Joel Gilardini preserves an EXIL improvisation as a new live release
Another Mid Summer Impression documents an August performance with baritone guitar, electronics and loops.
Joel Gilardini's Another Mid Summer Impression turns a Zurich performance into a lasting recording. Released on 3 September 2026, the three-part set was recorded at EXIL on 10 August during the Montags series. UBWG returned to the release on 8 October by selecting Of Something Rather as its track of the week.
The official credits identify baritone guitar, electronics and loops as Gilardini's instruments. The material was subsequently mixed at Nowhere Studio in Wallisellen. Its extended pieces retain a different scale from the short-track format common to digital release schedules.
For Zurich's experimental electronic scene, the useful development is the connection between a recurring live platform and an accessible artist archive. A performance that might otherwise be limited to those in the room can now be heard as a complete release. This is not a newly announced October concert: the live date is past, and the news is the recording and its renewed attention. The official Bandcamp page carries the complete set and production credits.
