Proto Records adds a new listening address to Zurich
The new Kreis 5 record shop connects a curated vinyl collection with the people behind Das Firmament and Spirito FM.
Proto Records has opened at Luisenstrasse 43 in Zurich's Kreis 5. The shop began welcoming visitors in mid-September 2026, adding a physical meeting point to a project already connected to the city's DJ and community-radio networks. Nicolas Balmer runs it with Jonas, Manuel and Luca, the three members of Das Firmament.
From radio selection to record racks
An edition of Spirito FM on Furka Radio, dated 10 September, offers a way into that musical background. The opening report on UBWG connects the broadcast with the collection assembled for the shop, while Proto Records' own account documents the opening and confirms its address and visiting hours.
The store currently opens on Thursdays and Fridays from 17:00 to 21:00 and Saturdays from 15:00 to 21:00. For listeners, the useful development is a place to browse and talk about records in person, alongside the online channels where this community already shares music. Proto's arrival is a small but tangible addition to Zurich's independent music infrastructure.
