Frekuence raises funds for a DJ booth local artists can practise on
The Tirana club wants to replace rented equipment with a permanent setup that can also be used for practice during the week.
Frekuence is raising funds for its own DJ booth in Tirana, with a plan to make the equipment available to local DJs for practice as well as club nights. The club says it currently rents equipment for each event. In its campaign description, it explains that owning a setup would give artists a chance to prepare on professional equipment before playing to an audience.
The club's announcement lists four CDJ-3000 players, an Allen & Heath Xone 96 mixer, a controller and two Technics turntables. Its fundraiser also includes cables, stands, cases and other components. The equipment forms the proposed setup for the new booth, which the club plans to use both for its events and for practice.
From a rented setup to a shared resource
The campaign page says Frekuence wants to open the booth during the week to DJs from Tirana who are serious about practising. That would extend the use of the equipment beyond a single night and give artists time to learn the setup away from a live audience. The club presents this as part of its own approach to supporting local electronic music, rather than a city-wide training programme.
On 7 November the linked WhyDonate page showed 133,080 ALL raised toward 2,000,000 ALL, from 26 donations. Those figures are a snapshot and can change. The fundraiser remains open for contributions.
Frekuence describes itself as an underground space where the focus is on music and cameras stay away from the floor. The campaign is a concrete proposal to add a place for preparation to that club setting. Whether and when the practice booth opens will depend on the project moving beyond the fundraising stage.
