Vienna cultural space Das LOT has announced a sound system designed and built specifically for its room by Philipp of Tiefklang. The venue chose its Listening Floor Vol. II session on 7 November to introduce the system, adding a dedicated listening format to its programme of electronic music and live performance.

The announcement describes the system as a custom build for Das LOT, rather than an off-the-shelf installation. For the launch, organiser ECHOLOT described a slower session centred on attentive listening, with visitors invited to get comfortable on the floor and put their phones away.

MONTAHA and Xavier Weydert of oboskop were named in the programme, which combined DJs and live electronics. The venue’s announcement listed additional acts as forthcoming; their identities have not been independently confirmed here.

The project is a local investment in the infrastructure around experimental electronic music: a system made for one Vienna space, introduced through a listening-focused event. The event listing is an announcement, so it does not establish what happened during the session or how the system sounded.
