EXIT announces a return to Novi Sad's fortress in 2027
EXIT says it will bring a special event back to Petrovaradin Fortress in July 2027, ahead of the full-scale return it had originally planned for 2028.
The organisers announced on 29 October that EXIT will return to Petrovaradin Fortress in Novi Sad in July 2027. They describe the gathering as a special EXIT experience, with the full concept still to be revealed. The announcement gives no exact dates, lineup or ticket details.
The plan brings activity at the fortress forward by a year. EXIT says it had initially envisaged a larger return in 2028 because preparing an edition on that scale would take at least 18 months. N1 and TECHNOCRACY also reported the 2027 announcement.
The festival did not hold its traditional fortress edition in 2026. Its organisers had previously said that political, security and financial pressure followed their support for the student movement. EXIT explicitly connects the return announcement to the movement; that explanation is the organisers' account of the decision.
The change matters to Serbia's electronic scene as well as the wider festival community. EXIT is a multi-genre event, but its 2025 fortress programme included the Dance Arena and other spaces dedicated to electronic music. Their presence in a previous edition does not establish what will be programmed in 2027.
For now, July and the fortress are the confirmed parameters. The scale of the special gathering, the artists and the ticketing arrangements remain to be announced. SCENE:ID will treat those details as open until the organisers publish them.
