MOODOS.
What stays with you after a night.
MOODOS on shared sets, attentive dance floors and three rooms for their Invites night.
MOODOS
A night should be remembered for more than the tracks that were played. For MOODOS, what matters most is the feeling people take away. The Basel duo discuss how they make musical decisions together and what makes a guest right for their Invites nights. Ahead of their edition with Les Acteurs at Viertel_Klub on 13 November 2026, they talk about different energies across three floors — and a Berlin warm-up whose attentive audience made a lasting impression.
MOODOS is a DJ duo from Basel. Through MOODOS Invites, they shape their own club nights and invite other artists. They wrote these answers together for SCENE:ID.
The feeling behind the set
If you wanted to explain your sound without listing genres, what should a MOODOS set make people feel?
With a MOODOS set, we want to take people on a musical journey. It matters to us that, for a moment, they can forget everyday life, let go and simply enjoy the music. We love playing with emotion and energy, building tension and surprising people again and again. By the end, it should not just be the music they remember, but above all the feeling they had in that moment.
A shared plan, an open ear

There are two of you behind the decks. How do you find common ground during a set if one of you wants to go in a completely different musical direction?
Before the set, at home while selecting music, we discuss different scenarios and generally work from a shared plan. Depending on the situation, though, we also move away from it, because we always try to feel the audience and respond to their mood.
By the end, it should not just be the music they remember, but above all the feeling they had in that moment.
Building an arc on the Klub floor
On 13 November, you and Les Acteurs are taking over all three floors of Viertel_Klub for the first time. How are you planning the musical differences between the rooms?
On the Klub floor, the sound will be based on tech house and melodic techno. We are focusing on a musical progression that builds throughout the night.
Two more rooms, two different impulses

What is the concept for the other two floors?
In Dancing, Les Acteurs will play all night, with a sound based on minimal and melodic elements.
On the Studio floor, we are focusing on bounce and hard bounce. This direction deserves more support, which is why we also want to offer a platform to distinctive artists.
What makes the right guest
With MOODOS Invites, you also put the night in the hands of other artists. What makes someone the right guest for you?
We enjoy inviting artists and place great importance on quality, motivation and commitment to Basel’s local nightlife culture. At the same time, we also want to be the right guests ourselves when we are booked and our sound is appreciated.
The attention that connects us

You are based in Basel and put on your own nights there. What is still missing from the local club scene that you would like to explore through your events?
If you compare the Swiss club scene with scenes abroad, there is sometimes a certain culture of engaging with electronic music that is missing here. Of course, you cannot generalise, but in our opinion that is mostly the case. That is exactly what we want to work on.
We had a very special experience at Ritter Butzke in Berlin. Even during the warm-up, the audience was completely engaged, without phones and without distractions. That is exactly the kind of connection between music, DJs and the audience that we want to encourage here too.
