Fennesz

Fennesz makes the guitar behave less like a foreground instrument than a source of weather: harmonics, distortion and digital processing accumulate into music that can feel melodic and unstable at the same time. His work grew from Vienna’s 1990s electronic context but is not reducible to glitch; albums such as Endless Summer, Venice and Mosaic use processing to expose pop-shaped memory inside dense electronic surfaces. Current recordings and touring confirm a living practice rather than an archival reputation.
