Pierre Schaeffer
Pierre Schaeffer (1910-1995) was a French composer, engineer and theorist who founded musique concrète and the Groupe de Recherches Musicales. By treating recorded sound as material for montage, analysis and composition, he helped establish the conceptual and technical foundations of electroacoustic music.
