Birgitta Flick is a Berlin-based saxophonist, composer and artistic researcher whose work connects improvisation, written music and electroacoustic composition.

Birgitta Flick works across saxophone improvisation, composition and artistic research. Based in Berlin, she explores how notation and collective performance transform one another, developing music for her own ensembles, chamber groups and choirs. Her work also includes electroacoustic pieces such as Circular Composition III and Trails of Traces I & II, both from 2023. She studied saxophone at Jazz-Institut Berlin and composition in Stockholm, and completed an artistic doctorate at the University of Music and Performing Arts Vienna in 2025. Her recorded projects include the Birgitta Flick Quartet and collaborations with pianist Antje Rößeler.
