Label Suisse used its September 2026 programme to introduce a new role: producing original work as well as selecting existing projects. Borderline, its first in-house creation, brings Nathalie Froehlich and Hook together with a string quartet from Ensemble Camerata Ataremac and visual designer Mero Uno.

Support between festival years

The festival presented the project as electronic rap on an expanded scale, with a scheduled premiere on 18 September in Lausanne. Its continuing significance is the production model behind it. Label Suisse describes an ambition to initiate collaborations, support their development and help work circulate beyond the festival itself.

Radio Vostok's interview with director Albane Schlechten had already identified that shift earlier in the year. The official creation programme now gives it a concrete form. For Swiss electronic and hybrid music, the opportunity lies in resources for projects that need development time and partners, not simply another performance slot. September's programme is past; the stated commitment to work between editions is the part to follow.
