GE-OLOGY
GE-OLOGY is a Baltimore-born, New York-based DJ, producer and visual artist whose work crosses hip-hop, dance music, illustration and graphic design. He began collecting records and learning trumpet as a child before developing his practice as a DJ. His production credits include Black Star, Mos Def, Talib Kweli, De La Soul and Tupac Shakur, alongside recordings with vocalists such as Jill Scott, Yukimi Nagano and Vinia Mojica. His dance-floor work includes Moon Circuitry with Mark de Clive-Lowe, originally released by Theo Parrish’s Sound Signature. In the 1990s he also worked with Matt Doo through their visual-art partnership Dooable Arts. As a selector, GE-OLOGY brings experimental jazz, gospel, disco, funk, house, techno and hip-hop into sets built around contrasts, unexpected transitions and the expressive possibilities of a deeply researched record collection.
