MARI ELLA

Mari Ella is a Vienna-born DJ, dancer and podcast host based in New York. After years of dance training, she moved to the city in the early 2000s and immersed herself in its club culture. Her sets focus on deep and soulful house, retaining a gritty edge and an attention to how music moves dancers. In 2022 she founded Deep Waters in Brooklyn, a party built around the experience of dancing in an intimate, dark room. Her New York appearances have included Public Records, Nowadays, Elsewhere and Jupiter Disco, alongside vinyl-focused listening spaces. She also produces Dance to the Music, a podcast about movement and its place within dance-music culture, and shares selections through radio sessions and her own music channels.
