Held across two spring weekends in Krems, donaufestival is one of Austria's key meeting points for experimental music, electronic culture and interdisciplinary contemporary art. Since its 2005 repositioning, the festival has turned the small Danube city into a dense six-day circuit of concerts, club-oriented sets, audiovisual work, performance, film and talks. Its line-ups favour adventurous crossovers over strict genre boundaries, placing major experimental names beside emerging artists and radical club sounds across halls, churches, galleries and cinemas.
