Chris Corsano

Chris Corsano is a Chicago-based drummer and improviser active across free jazz, avant-rock and experimental music since the late 1990s. His work ranges from a long-running duo with saxophonist Paul Flaherty to collaborations with Björk, Bill Orcutt, Michael Flower, Okkyung Lee and many other musicians. As a solo performer he expands the drum kit with prepared surfaces, resonant objects and instruments of his own construction. His 2024 album The Key combines live solo percussion with overdubbed pieces involving guitar, bass and electronics. He also plays in the collaborative trio with Dave Rempis and Jason Adasiewicz.
